Spilimbergo is Friuli's mosaic town, home since 1922 to the Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli, the world-renowned mosaic school. Its cathedral, begun in 1284, has a west facade pierced by seven small rose windows, unique in Friuli, and stands beside the castle with its fresco-painted Palazzo Dipinto. At the time of recording the retrieval showed overcast skies at 8.9 degrees with cloud cover of 100 percent.
